Jörg Heinrich Schäfer
Founder, Executive Chairman & CEO
About:
Jörg Heinrich Schäfer brings over 30 years of experience in investment. Until 2008, he worked in traditional investment banking, managing large international projects with a strong focus on finance and capital markets. The financial crisis of 2008, combined with the birth of his third child, led to a profound change in perspective—and marked the beginning of a new path.
Since then, Schäfer has dedicated himself exclusively to impactful and sustainable projects, contributing globally to wind and solar parks, hydroelectric plants, geothermal facilities, and large-scale reforestation initiatives. Over the past decade and a half, he has raised and deployed over 200 million euros for ecological infrastructure projects.
Since 2018, his primary focus has been reforestation—one of the most urgent challenges of our time, in his view. He sees the increasing deforestation of the world’s last primary and rainforests as a severe threat to the ecological balance of the entire planet. Consequently, he prioritizes innovative and long-term solutions to sustainably counteract this crisis.
As a co-initiator of the award-winning Clean Tech Infrastructure Fund, Schäfer is among the pioneers in sustainable capital investments. He co-created the Jäderberg & Cie. project, recognized with the German Investment Award, and currently serves on the advisory board of Clean Water e.V. as well as being a member of the Forum Nachhaltige Geldanlagen (FNG).
His mission: Developing substantial projects that achieve ecological impact while providing convincing economic returns—for a livable future and prosperity across generations.
